Another Great InfoComm

True to form, our 12th InfoComm was a phenomenal show with attendance this year topping 32,000 visitors. At the Stardraw.com booth we were delighted to be swamped right off the bat and to see so many people taking such interest in our System Design and Control applications.

iProductsCertainly one of the things that caught our visitors' imaginations was our integration of the iPad, allowing the Apple product and its iPhone and iPod Touch siblings to be used as true bi-directional User Interface devices to any Stardraw Control-based system. Even we were astonished at the iPad's battery life: having last charged it on the Sunday before the show, the booth iPad was in constant use throughout each show day (and during out-of-show hours) and was at no time powered down. The battery finally gave up the ghost 28 minutes before InfoComm closed on its final day, Thursday June 11th. That's pretty good going for a portable wifi device in effectively constant use.

Case Study - 200 5th

200 5thThe 200 5th sports bar in Brooklyn NY is the subject of a new case study. Specialist integrators JD Systems of Staten Island, NY, recently completed a full refit of the venue using, at its heart, Stardraw Control to manage control of, and content delivery to, almost 70 HD display devices in this hardest of hardcore sports experiences.

New Features in Stardraw Control

Stardraw.comWe're pleased to announce the addition of several new features to Stardraw Control, additions made in large part thanks to users in the field. Thanks for your feedback!

  • Drag-drop driver replacement - in Stardraw Control's Topology View you can now replace products simply by dragging a new device from the Product List onto an existing one. This in effect 'swaps out' the product while retaining the functions and actions that have already been programmed. A great timesaver particularly for completed projects that are being upgraded with the latest hardware devices.
  • Persistent product properties - properties defined in the Topology View at designtime, e.g. IP Address, are now persisted if changes are made to the underlying device driver.
  • Copy actions with controls - when you copy and paste UI controls, e.g. buttons, the actions assigned to those controls are copied as well, making it easier and quicker to create 'cookie-cutter' projects.
