Latest Program Features from Stardraw
As part of software provider Stardraw's ongoing Feature-per-Month
program, several new capabilities have been added across the
suite of Stardraw's design and documentation applications.
The Convert Environment tool automatically creates new
layouts in other environments within Stardraw using the current
design as the source document. This enables you to move easily
between environments (Block Schematic, Pictorial Schematic and Rack
Layout) without having to re-select the symbols from the Library List
each time.
Enhanced Library Structure has been designed to offer some
significant immediate advantages while paving the way for important
strategic upgrades to be announced as future Features-per-Month.
Essentially it offers customers a way to customize their library
structures using both Local and Online libraries to optimize the
way in which he or she likes to work. Users of dialup or slow
internet connections will notice immediate performance improvements
on program startup and when using the Library List because actions
performed within the Local Libraries no longer need to check the
Stardraw web server.
Precision Enhancement is exactly what it says it is. Every
field that displays units of measurement is now more flexible,
customizable, and reflects accuracy more, well, accurately. Having
chosen your preferred measurement unit (Feet & Inches; Inches Only;
Metres; Millimetres), the Precision sub-menu allows you to specify
the number of decimal places that can be displayed and entered
throughout Stardraw. You can choose from 0 to 5 decimal places,
thus extending Stardraw's display accuracy to 1/100,000mm.
Enhanced Ungroup. The Group/Ungroup tool can now be used
to 'explode' symbols. Prior to this enhancement you could edit
the elements within a symbol by Unlocking the document, but you
could not treat the elements of symbols as individual objects in
a locked document. Now, if you select a symbol, the Group tool
will appear checked: by unchecking it you will break down one
level of grouping. Nested symbols, i.e. symbols that themselves
contain symbols, can be fully exploded by repeating the Ungroup
process.
Ungrouping of symbols is an important new feature since it
allows you to create new symbols from the component parts of
other symbols. Previously this could only be achieved by
opening and editing symbol files themselves. This enhancement
to the Group/Ungroup function is similar to using Purge/Explode
in AutoCAD.
