Stardraw mixes it up with Yamaha DME Design and control software developer, Stardraw.com, is now supporting DME (Digital Mixing Engine) products from pro audio heavyweights, Yamaha.
Sample User Interface The entire Yamaha DME product family including DME64N, DME24N and DME Satellites can now be controlled from any PC using custom user interfaces designed in Stardraw's award-winning application, Stardraw Control. This software allows users to design and program fully customized control applications without having to write any code. It supports control of any hardware over any protocol and now includes drivers for Yamaha's DME range of programmable, networkable DSP audio processors including the recently released DME Satellite CobraNet and DME Satellite EtherSound models, allowing control from easily designed custom interfaces for theatres, concerts halls, corporate and conferencing, houses of worship or any application requiring high quality audio processing and distribution. The collaboration came about as a result of a request from a consultant who was planning a project using DME products from Yamaha and who wished to control it using Stardraw Control. Yamaha Commercial Audio's sound reinforcement product specialist, Tim Harrison, contacted Stardraw to see what could be done. "I spoke to CEO David Snipp who explained that a specific driver would need to be written in order for the DME products to be supported within Stardraw Control, so I suggested a visit to our offices for the programmer to familiarize himself with the range and how our customers use the products. Dave agreed and announced that the driver would be written by lunchtime of the day of the visit. I confess, I was a little skeptical, so I said that if it was ready by lunchtime, lunch was on me – otherwise, Stardraw was buying. Suffice it to say that I was the one who paid for lunch!" "This is a win-win situation for all concerned," continued Harrison. "Stardraw's open architecture approach fits perfectly with our own desire to make our products as accessible as possible. We have therefore engineered them to make it as easy as possible to fit into a control structure that is not necessarily of our own design. Our products offer a wide range of digital audio connectivity over most audio network protocols including EtherSound and CobraNet, so I was also impressed that Stardraw Control allows direct control over Ethernet of the audio routing as well! As far as I am aware, Stardraw Control is currently unique in offering this level of control, and offering it so easily to both the programmer and the end user." Stardraw's David Snipp agrees.
