Our current libraries contain over 62,000
high quality pre-drawn symbols from more than 575
manufacturers. Updates are provided monthly by means of internet downloads.
If you're not included in the symbols library, Stardraw users are probably
creating designs using your competitors' products.
Inclusion in the libraries is free of charge. Take this opportunity to
include your products.
Initial Requirements
As a manufacturer you have the opportunity to have all your
products included in the form of equipment drawings. This service is free of
charge for any manufacturer; all we require is product information as follows:
- 2D DWG or DXF drawing files in PC format (no MAC files please)
- A complete list of products to be included in the library and their
descriptions
- Technical data sheets for each product
- A full Line Catalogue (if available)
The information we require is not dissimilar to that which
you may already supply your customers or dealers. Any information sent to us,
including CAD files, is treated in the utmost confidence and is used strictly
for the purpose of creating Stardraw Symbols.
It is important to stress that you should begin by sending
us only such information as already exists – do not commit to generating any
new data because, at this stage, it would very likely be a waste of resources.
How to start
Begin by sending a sample of the data described above and
details of a prime contact to the Stardraw Engineering Department.
Electronic data can be e-mailed to symbols@stardraw.com
Hardcopy information can be mailed to:
Stardraw Engineering Department
78 York Street
London
W1H 1DP
UK
You can download an information
checklist and this form should be completed and faxed or included
with the sample. After evaluation of the data, we will be able to
project the timeframe for inclusion of your products. At this point you
should be ready to provide the remainder of the data described above.
Ideal Data and How It Is Used
The preceding paragraphs really are all you need to know and
do to include your products in Stardraw's libraries – it's a simple and
painless process. The next section gives some additional details about the
“perfect world” scenario and describes how the symbols will be used after they
are made available.
Stardraw produces a number of different applications which
are focussed at different markets. In some cases your products might be
appropriate for more than one application library.

A design/documentation package for those with an interest in the specification,
design, sale or installation of professional sound reinforcement systems, e.g.
audio contractors, electro-acoustic consultants, PA hire companies, audio sales
engineers. Libraries contain symbols of loudspeakers, microphones, mixing
desks, source equipment, amplifiers, audio processing equipment and associated
products like 19” rack hardware, panels and connectors.
|

A design/documentation package for those involved in professional Audio Visual
systems, e.g. contractors specialising in boardroom/multimedia installations,
AV consultants, event production companies, AV rental companies. Libraries contain all of the products found in Stardraw Audio
plus video source equipment, video processing devices, video monitors, screens,
projectors and control devices.
|

An entry-level design/documentation package for A/V systems integrators;
as Stardraw A/V but without the Panel Layout environment
|
Because different markets have different design requirements,
Stardraw applications contain carefully designed environments which use
distinct views of products. Here are some examples, click on any image

Additional Note on Drawings
The quickest way to get your products included in the Stardraw libraries is to supply drawing files in 2D DXF or DWG PC format, (no MAC
files please). Please note we cannot guarantee other vector file types
will be included but supply them and we will do our best to convert
them. Other formats accepted are: WMF, CDR. The PDF file format is widely used for operating manuals and data
sheets. If your pdf manual has a diagram of the equipment front
and rear these files will be accepted.
Raster files such as BMP, GIF, JPG, EPS or CDR etc. are not suitable,
unless supplied in addition to DXF or DWG files.
If your product files are available on the Internet please
e-mail symbols@stardraw.com
the address and we will collect them. Alternatively, why not e-mail this information to:
symbols@stardraw.com
or it can be posted to the address below.
When we receive your product information, we carefully create a symbol
in each environment that accurately
represents your product. Every month, our subscribers receive an update
of the latest symbols to use in designs for their latest projects. Make
sure your products are available by contacting us today.
