Feature per Month program
This month's new feature is Convert Environment: this
is a major productivity enhancement that automatically
creates new layouts in other environments, based on
your current drawing.
You can get this important new feature at no cost if you have a
current subscription for your Stardraw product. Follow a link
to download this feature using Stardraw LiveUpdate.
Important Note: the Feature per Month program is
available only to current subscribers of Stardraw Audio, Stardraw AV,
Stardraw Lighting 2D and Stardraw Radio, and is delivered using LiveUpdate.

Rapco & Horizon
Music select Stardraw.net
Stardraw.com is pleased to announce that yet another forward-thinking
company has selected Stardraw.net as its solution of choice. VTG
Corporation has signed a significant development and maintenance
contract with software provider Stardraw.com in order to roll out
online design applications for custom control and connection panels
under the banners of daughter companies Rapco and Horizon Music.
Rapco and Horizon Music are two of the largest suppliers of cables,
connectors, custom panels and metalwork in the US with outlets in the UK and Europe.
Based on Stardraw.net, the new service is delivered by a web server
and works from within a browser so there is nothing to download or install
in the conventional sense. It comprises a drag-and-drop interface linked
to a complete library of all of Rapco's and Horizon Music's panel products
so the user simply selects the panel he or she wants, drags on the connectors
that are needed, and sets engraving, finishes, artwork and so on. The
resultant design is linked in realtime via XML to sophisticated backoffice
systems. Once the design is complete, a separate pop-up report delivers an
instant quote. Furthermore, this system can support very complex pricing
models, e.g. setup charges, product charges, variable charges (such as
engraving by character) and, most importantly, pricing by user profile;
discounts may be based on who the user is and the type of account he or she has.
The benefits of this technology are clear. Customers can design, price
and order custom panels in seconds, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a
week, without having to wait for any third party input. From the client's
point of view all the guesswork is taken out of the process which improves
efficiency enormously. According to Stardraw.com's marketing director Rob
Robinson, this is undoubtedly the way of the future. “More and more
manufacturers are realising that they need to develop specialized software
tools in order to continue to provide the best possible service to their
customers. With Stardraw.net we have a fully customizable engine that is
ready to be adapted to virtually any specification, and is proven to work,
all of which means we are able to deliver new, advanced applications on time,
to spec, and for far less outlay than required by traditional in-house
development programs. In short, Stardraw.net technology offers a far
more efficient, elegant and cost-effective solution for the delivery of
customized software.”
