Feature per Month program
This month's new feature is External Datasource: this is a
fast, flexible and customizable way to create a central datasource
for product attributes. The External Datasource wizard creates
an Excel spreadsheet into which you can add product attribute data,
like pricing, which will be used in any drawings you create.
You can get this important new feature at no cost if you have a
current subscription for your Stardraw product. Follow a link
to download this feature using Stardraw LiveUpdate.
Important Note: the Feature per Month program is
available only to current subscribers of Stardraw Audio, Stardraw AV,
Stardraw Lighting 2D and Stardraw Radio, and is delivered using LiveUpdate.

New Website
www.stardraw.com has had a total makeover. In addition to new styling, the site's
navigational structure has been re-worked to make it easier for our increasingly diverse
customer base to find the information they are looking for.
The cosmetic and operational improvements will be obvious to
anyone familiar with the old site. What will not be so immediately apparent
are the significant back-end enhancements which allow more robust and flexible operation
of the site as a whole, and offer new capabilities and scalability to the many new web
services that are part of Stardraw.com's ongoing strategy. One such example is
this month's new feature, External Datasource, which is another example of how
web services can offer powerful solutions to our users around the world.
We have set up new racks of dedicated servers in Seattle, USA
and London, UK offering replicated services and ensuring 24/7 uptime and optimized global access times.
The most significant back-end change is the implementation of SQL Server 2000
databases over 3 dedicated machines
to support Stardraw applications. This allows:
- Faster data access
- Scalability - designed for millions of concurrent users
- Faster data transmission over increased
bandwidth
- Improved fault tolerance
- New product capabilities, to be introduced in the coming months

Improved LiveUpdate
The LiveUpdate process, employed by users of Stardraw Audio, Stardraw AV,
Stardraw Lighting 2D and Stardraw Radio to install all new monthly program updates,
has been re-written and offers some key improvements:
- Speed - new compression techniques mean faster download and installation
- Portability - improved platform support, browser independence
- Reliability - improved error handling including version roll-back on failure
