Stardraw Control wins Innovation Award at PLASA 2004
Stardraw.com's newest application, Stardraw Control, was honoured with
a PLASA Award for Innovation at the recent London show. Stardraw Control
offers a new approach to solving the problem of controlling systems comprised
of products from many different suppliers.
Stardraw's marketing director, Rob Robinson, explained the key features of
Stardraw Control that set it apart from other control solutions. "Stardraw
Control creates stand-alone control applications that can manage any kind of
product from any manufacturer as long as it can be controlled or monitored
remotely. It is designed to support any communications infrastructure and any
protocol such as LAN, Wi-Fi, IR, RS232, EtherSound etc. Furthermore, the
application that you have created with Stardraw Control will run on any
Windows-enabled device from PC to PDA to touchscreen panel, as well as Linux,
Mac etc. To our knowledge, no-one else offers such an innovative and
flexible system, so we are pleased that its potential has been recognized on
the occasion of its launch."
Richard Northwood, prominent industry AV consultant and member of the
judging panel agreed. "This year we weren't judging products within category
lines, but on the grounds of their innovation alone. The emphasis was on
products which advanced the industry, demonstrated a new style of thinking,
represented a key step forward in safety terms or improved technical
practices. I was particularly impressed with Stardraw Control because I felt
straight away that here was a product with the potential to revolutionize
system control in the audio-visual industry. The flexibility of its open
architecture makes it completely accessible to all manufacturers, whatever
standard or protocol they happen to be using, and an astute commercial model
suggests there may be a new success story in the offing. I shall be
monitoring its progress with great interest."
SCV Appointed Stardraw Resellers for France
Software providers Stardraw.com are pleased to announce the appointment of leading French
sales and distributions specialists, SCV Audio, as resellers throughout France for the entire
range of Stardraw's design and documentation software packages.
Located just to the north of Paris, SCV Audio has a significant pro audio division which includes all
the Harman Pro brands in addition to other lines such as Digigram (who recently announced a
strategic partnership with Stardraw for the development of control software for EtherSound products),
Audio-Technica, Armstrong and others.
SCV Audio brand manager Franck Voiffray is pleased to welcome the Stardraw product range to his portfolio.
"System design and advice is part of the service we offer to the professional audio market as
providers of turnkey solutions," explained Voiffray, "and as long-term users of Stardraw ourselves,
it made perfect sense to be able to offer it to our customers as well. It's a product we know
inside out and in which we have complete confidence, and so to include Stardraw as part of our
catalogue was a very natural step for us.”
Stardraw marketing director Rob Robinson agrees. "When SCV Audio approached us to act as resellers
for France, the decision was a no-brainer. SCV is a well-known and highly respected company in
pro audio circles, and they are already familiar with, and fans of the product, which makes them
a very strong advocate for us. Furthermore, the addition of Stardraw to their portfolio adds
value both for them and for us, and blends extremely harmoniously with the brands they currently
represent."
