US Expansion - New West Coast Office
We are delighted to announce our most significant US expansion to
date, with the establishment of a West Coast office in partnership with US distribution specialists,
North American Pro Audio (NAPA). The move follows an extraordinary year for Stardraw, which has
necessitated the provision of additional resources to serve and develop the US market. The partnership
with NAPA, operating as Stardraw.com USA, will look after all Stardraw's customers within the US,
Canada and Puerto Rico, and manage resellers and reps in the territory with effect from 1st January 2005.
In
addition to handling all sales and front-line technical support,
Stardraw.com USA will offer a comprehensive schedule of user
training seminars across US for 2005. Stardraw.com USA will also benefit from NAPA's comprehensive rep network thereby
increasing access to and representation of Stardraw's product range across the territory.
Stardraw marketing director, Rob Robinson, welcomes the new arrangement. "We had such a phenomenal
year in 2004 that it became clear that we should increase our resource base, and early indicators for
2005 suggest that this is definitely the right move at the right time. With their proven track record
in high end pro audio distribution to the systems integration market, North American Pro Audio presented
themselves as the ideal distribution partner. Furthermore, their preferred modus operandum of remaining
as transparent as possible in the business process allows Stardraw.com to retain its own distinct
identity, which is something that is very important to us. This partnership checks all the boxes."
NAPA president, Lynn Martin, agrees. "Our strategy of remaining discreetly in the background while
providing all the necessary support and technical back-up is a formula that has worked very well for us
with other manufacturers such as Allen & Heath and others that we represent. We believe in promoting
the strength of the individual brands first and foremost, although of course, as a distributor of
several complementary brands, we are in a position to add value in many other ways. We have been aware
of Stardraw for some time, and recognize them as a highly innovative company that is always at the
leading edge of technological advancement. Their products address markets in which we are already
established, as well as some in which we are not, so we are looking forward to the challenge of
growing sales still further in all areas."
Stardraw Control supports Toshiba, Global Caché
We are pleased to announce that support for Global Caché's GC-100 series of
Network Adaptors has been incorporated into Stardraw Control. This follows hard on the heels
of the addition of support for Toshiba Lighting & Technology Corporation's state-of-the-art video and data walls.
Global Caché, based in Southern Oregon, is a company dedicated to producing low-cost, state-of-the-art
products that enable technology in homes. The award-winning GC-100 Network Adaptor provides the means for
control, automation and management software to access, control and deliver services in a networked
home to diverse and previously unconnected devices and appliances.
Stardraw Control is exactly that; a software-based application designed expressly to control systems
that contain diverse products. It generates standalone, customized control programs that can manage and
monitor any type of addressable equipment from any manufacturer using any protocol over any communications
infrastructure. This approach frees systems integrators from closed or proprietary architectures and
applications, offering instead the ability to create a single application that can control many different
products with as much or as little complexity as the end user needs.
Global Caché president, Walt Keller, professed himself to be "delighted" that support for the GC-100
range has been incorporated into Stardraw Control. "Stardraw Control's ability to automatically generate
customer specific applications on-the-fly is truly a breakthrough technology, and is a very complementary
product to ours. We believe the combination of our respective products will ensure that integrators and
installers will be able to make the shift to open standards very easily with an affordable and yet powerful
leading-edge solution that is customized for each individual project."
Derek Western, general manager for Toshiba's European marketing office, is equally enthusiastic.
"A single, customisable control application that will support any
controllable product from any manufacturer has to be the answer to every system integrator's
prayers. We are thilled to number among the first manufacturers to support and be supported
by Stardraw Control, and would encourage others to follow suit. Anything that makes our
products easier to use and more accessible to the customer gets our vote, especially when
it offers such a simple, yet technologically advanced solution."
Toshiba and Global Caché are the latest additions to a quickly growing list of supported manufacturers that
includes Artistic Licence, Audace, AuviTran, Aurora Multimedia, Digigram, DKT Group, Dynalite, IMerge, NetCira,
Pathway, QSC and Smart-AVI
Stardraw Control Beta 1 Available for Download
We are pleased to announce the public availability of a Beta 1 version
of the award-winning application, Stardraw Control. During the Beta-test period, Stardraw is
inviting manufacturers and systems specialists to become test partners in this exciting new
project. In return, test partners are asked to provide as much detailed feedback as possible
via the dedicated Stardraw Control forum that has been set up especially for this purpose.
Stardraw Control generates standalone, customized control programs, offering a new approach
to solving the problem of controlling heterogeneous systems; for too long, systems integrators
have been locked into closed architectures wherever system control, monitoring or signal routing
has been required. Stardraw Control, by contrast, offers a software-based, unified control
framework that can manage any type of addressable equipment from any manufacturer over any
communications infrastructure.
Like other Stardraw applications it is fast, powerful, flexible and easy to use; with a
drag-drop interface and intuitive design environment, installers are able to configure systems
and control them without having to write a single line of code. Utilization of Microsoft.net
technology means that control programs are portable and can run on any Windows-enabled device,
from PC to PDA, or Mac, Linux and more. Stardraw Control can communicate with and control any
device using any protocol including TCP/IP, RS232, DMX, IR, EtherSound etc
Stardraw Control's open architecture means that manufacturers can offer software control
without the overhead of developing exclusive (and limited) software applications for individual
products, and since Stardraw Control communicates with any existing device-specific Application
Programming Interface (API), manufacturers can add support of their products without changing
existing code or adding new hardware. For the duration of the Beta-testing, Stardraw.com will
undertake all work required to add support for products at no cost to the manufacturer. All
the manufacturer has to do is supply a loan unit of the appropriate device with supporting
documentation and Stardraw.com will do the rest.
For systems integrators this open, unified approach means that a single application can control
many diverse products with as much or as little complexity as the end user needs.
According to Stardraw.com CEO David Snipp, “With Stardraw Control we have developed an open
system that is universally applicable. Manufacturers like it because it conforms to any standard
or protocol they choose, and installers are excited because it breaks the constraints on product
selection and application programming that you get with closed-architecture systems. This is a
winner at every level.”
Stardraw Control - Add Support for Your Products
In preparation for its launch in Q1 2005, we are adding support to Stardraw Control
for any appropriate devices by any manufacturers who are interested in becoming part of
this exciting new project. During the Beta test period Stardraw.com will undertake all work
required to add support for products at no cost to the manufacturer.
Stardraw Control has been engineered to support any device using any protocol - if
your products are remotely controllable or remotely monitored, Stardraw Control can be
used to control and monitor them. Support for a product is implemented by the creation of a
driver for that product; you do not need to change or add any hardware or software for your existing
products, and there is no cost to you.
Join the rapidly growing number of manufacturers that have indicated their support for Stardraw Control,
a number that includes Audace, Audient, Aviom, Bosch, Cobranet (Cirrus), Dynalite, iMerge, QSC, Toshiba,
Yamaha, ZWave and more. Click on the link to learn more.
