Why Do I have Problems Running Stardraw on a Particular Machine?
Stardraw is extremely reliable. It has been developed over 10 years and has
constantly been improved upon and there are no known bugs in the current
versions of our software.
Therefore, make sure you have the latest version of Stardraw software which
is available for download.
Also, make sure you have the latest fixes for your Windows machine by visiting
the Microsoft website
and click on "Product Updates".
It may be common sense, but if the crashing problem has only occurred
recently, try and find out what changed on your machine recently.
If Stardraw keeps crashing, in our experience, 99 out of 100 times, the
problem will be related to a bad Printer Driver of some sort. Make sure you
have the latest Printer Driver from the printer manufacturer's web site, or
use a Printer Driver that comes with Windows - even if it is a driver that
your Printer is compatible with. Stardraw is fully compatible and has been
tested with all Printer Drivers that Microsoft ships with all versions of
If Stardraw keeps crashing even though you have fixed your Printer Driver,
then make sure that you have a current version of MFC42.DLL. If you have
installed other programs since installing Stardraw, they can install an old
or bad version of this file. This file is meant to be shared across all
applications, and if one application uses a corrupt or old version, then all
applications that use this DLL will be affected. Try doing a Find of this
file on all your hard drives and make sure that the latest version is in your

current versions of our software. Please check your system thoroughly,
including a scandisk, make sure you have up-to-date versions of all your
drivers, including printers, graphics cards, keyboards, mice, etc. etc.
