How do I paste objects at a specific location rather than at a fixed offset?

By default, Ctrl+V (Paste) places copied objects at a fixed offset from the originals. To place a copy exactly where you want it, use Ctrl+drag instead:

  1. Select the objects you want to copy.
  2. Hold Ctrl and drag the selection to the desired position.
  3. Release the mouse button — a copy is placed at the drag destination.

This is faster and more precise than Copy + Paste for repositioning objects within the same drawing and does not require the clipboard at all.
